Sound Installations
“Noojimo” 2020 is an installation by Ansley Simpson of 4 films with sonic compositions “Waabanong”, “Babaamaagimose”, “Agwazhe" and “Miikogin” placed in a circle, at each of the 4 directions. This collaborative work with artist Joshua Richardson (Co-Film maker for Noojimo) explores the boundary between deconstruction and the very early stages of healing where it’s hard to tell the difference between destruction and growth.” Noojimo (S/he heals, recovers from an illness)

Ansley is the Creative Director for the permanent sound installation at the new Rouge National Urban Park Visitor Centre (under construction). This installation The Place where we Gather to Listen (working title) involves recordings of stories and songs by Indigenous artists, storytellers, knowledge keepers and musicians from the surrounding Indigenous Nations.
Installation will run year round accessible to visitors during daylight hours as a place for people to being to transition from the sounds of the city, to the sounds of the forest around them.
